BuildYourTools is covered by the Stein Investments terms of use. Section 8 adds to them for tools we build to your order.
8. Tools built to your order
8.1 What we build. Through BuildYourTools we create indicators, scripts and expert advisors for MetaTrader 5 to your description. We build with AI assistance to the current state of the art. The basis of the build is your specification: the prototype you approve and the assumptions you confirm before the build.
8.2 What we test. Before delivery we compile every tool and run it in the MetaTrader Strategy Tester on price data. There it has to load, calculate and display what your specification describes. We let an expert advisor execute trades in the Strategy Tester, including on an account whose symbols carry a name suffix. This test shows that the tool works technically as you ordered it.
8.3 What the test leaves open. We do not test whether a trading idea makes money. Our test includes no assessment of your strategy, its risk or its profitability, and no test with your broker, on your account, with your settings or under live conditions such as spread, slippage, execution or connection. Strategy Tester results describe the past and say nothing binding about the future.
8.4 Agreed characteristics. Your tool is a one-off built to your order. We therefore expressly and separately agree, in deviation from the requirements that can usually be expected of software of this kind:
a) The tool has exactly the features of your confirmed specification. A particular trading result and suitability for a particular strategy, broker or account are not among them.
b) Adjustments to later versions of MetaTrader, to changed conditions at your broker or to new wishes are not included in the price. You can order them from us as a change or an extension. Each order creates a new version of your tool at a fixed price you see before ordering; earlier versions stay in your project.
If the tool deviates from your confirmed specification, we fix it. Your statutory rights in case of defects remain.
8.5 Use at your own responsibility. You use the tool at your own responsibility. Before an expert advisor trades on a live account, you test it on a demo account with your broker and with the settings you intend to use. Whether, when, on which account and with how much capital it trades is your decision. For losses from trades the tool executes or displays, we are liable only under section 7.1.
8.6 Your use. You receive your tool as a compiled file for MetaTrader 5 and the simple, unlimited-in-time right to use it for your own trading on your own accounts. The source code stays with us. Every file carries our origin note “Created by BuildYourTools” in its properties. Anything beyond that takes a separate agreement with us: use within a company, for other people's accounts or money, release of the source code, passing on, resale, rental and publication, including on the MQL5 Market. Write to us at support@stein.investments. We may reuse general programming building blocks created during the build.
8.7 Your idea stays yours. The source code stays with us (section 8.6); the idea behind it belongs to you. Everything you give us for your project, such as your trading idea, rules, descriptions, screenshots and files, we use only to build and support your project. We do not rebuild your idea for ourselves or for others, and we neither sell it nor pass it on. We show your project to no one without your consent. To improve BuildYourTools, we may analyse how projects run on the platform, for example where follow-up questions were needed or a build took several attempts. This analysis serves solely to improve our service. Free for everyone remains what is generally known, such as common indicators and trading rules, what we or other customers develop or order independently of you, and the general programming building blocks under section 8.6.
8.8 Consent before ordering and downloading. Before you order a build, you confirm section 8.4 separately. Before you download the finished tool, you confirm section 8.5. We build and deliver only with these confirmations. We store both with the date and the version of these terms in your account.
8.9 Withdrawal. By ordering, you ask us to start the build immediately. If you agree to this and confirm that you are aware of it, your right of withdrawal expires as soon as we start the build. Details are in the annex on withdrawal.
